This announcement comes following his recent succession to the role after Faishal Ibrahim’s resignation from political office, Parliament, and the People’s Action Party on July 20. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong indicated that Faishal’s departure was prompted by a judgment lapse related to his interactions with a female member of the public.
In his initial statements, Zaqy emphasized his intention to collaborate closely with the M3+ network, volunteers, and community partners to bolster initiatives designed to support and elevate Singapore’s Malay-Muslim community.
